Sanyo white LEDs (light emitting diodes)

Sanyo white LEDs range in intensity from 0.2 candelas and a divergence angle of 150 degrees in a 3mm package up to 3.0 candelas and a divergence angle of 25 degrees in a 5mm package.

They combine a highly efficient GaInN blue chip with a phosphorus filter in the lens of the LED to deliver superior performance. The phosphorus filter in the lens produces a cool white light.

They are used in a broad range of applications such as outdoor and indoor LED video signs, transportation signalling and automotive lighting, and can also be used in high volume applications such as LCD backlighting and panel displays, for direct and indirect lighting.

The LEDs are packaged in industry standard, 3mm, 5mm and surface mount packages.

Compared with incandescent sources, the advantages of LEDs are clear; long life plus power efficiency equal savings for OEMs.
